During these uncertain times, all of us may experience stress, and no matter how much we may try to protect our children from what is in the news, they are going to hear things or they will pick up on the stress levels of the adults around them.  If you are concerned about any anxiety your child is experiencing, you can request some support from Mrs. Acker or Mrs. Jones by submitting this form: Student Request Form. They will receive the form and reach out to you or your child.

All employees have been instructed to practice “social distancing” and other CDC-recommended hygiene practices to reduce the spread of the COVID-19 virus.

We know that this information brings both certainty and uncertainty for the weeks ahead. We’d ask that we allow each other a measure of grace, as we develop plans for what school looks like in the weeks ahead. Now, more than ever, we must work together for the benefit of our children and our community. We thank you for being patient as we navigate this new reality.

Special Education/Gifted & Talented/Health Services:

Our Student Success office is coordinating efforts to ensure student educational needs are met to the greatest extent possible during these unique circumstances. The Health Services Department will staff nurses to provide resources related to COVID-19 and general health. Student Services will provide social-emotional support for students and their families. Special Education professionals will coordinate with teachers to provide support to students with disabilities. Gifted & Talented will coordinate to provide support to students with Advanced Learning Plans. Students receiving case management or navigation services from Student Engagement will continue to receive these supports via phone, text, or other mediums dependent on family resources.

Below are guidelines and things to consider for students and families.

Students:

  • Students will be bringing their Chromebook, iPad, laptop, charger, and headphones home.
    • If a student needs to borrow a device, they should work with their school to determine if extra devices are available.
  • Students will need to ensure they have an internet connection at home. If your family does not have internet access at home, please contact your classroom teacher.
  • Know your logins and passwords. Register in the Password Reset Tool
  • Know how to contact your school/teacher from home via Chromebook, laptop, or iPad.
  • Set up a place to focus on learning at home.
  • Have a few independent reading books.
  • Use the available technology self-help resources here to answer many common questions around applications and technology.
  • Attendance will be verified by online login time, phone calls or emails from parents, or work turned in
