Translation & Interpretation Services

The Translation & Interpretation Services team supports communication with Jeffco families in over 100 languages on topics including safety, health, enrollment, student expectations and academic progress. Jeffco offers translation and interpretation services for free to parents and guardians.

Successful two-way communication promotes understanding, partnership, and a sense of belonging among Jeffco families and staff. The relationship between Jeffco staff and families improves student outcomes. This is the “why” behind the team’s work.

The language professionals on the Translation & Interpretation Services team are highly qualified and attend ongoing training to continually improve linguistic skills and knowledge of ethics, standards and best practices for translators and interpreters in education.

Accessing Translation & Interpretation Services

If you are a parent, legal guardian or family member who needs an interpreter or a translation for reasons related to your student’s education, please contact a school staff member or FRST.

Translation & Interpretation Services ensure that all Jeffco families receive important information clearly and quickly. When enrolling your child using the Infinite Campus Parent Portal you may select a preferred language other than English. This will ensure successful two-way communication in both written and oral communication so that we can promote understanding, partnership, and a sense of community among Powderhorn families and staff.
